you were in this park during the shooting of this story. is this a place that if i went to santa cruz with my family, i would likely go to, or is it out of the way. >> not likely. this specific area of the park is known for drug dealing. that's why all the people go there. every single person we encountered when we went to that side of park was there to do drugs or deal drugs. it was very obvious. all the cars that park on that side of the park, first thing we did cops ran the plates, because we knew why they were there. >> that video was so astounding, you were so close to these people, but it's a tough job to clean up, because they're very understaff. >> they used to have ten officers just to patrol this park, now there's two, and literally we could have arrested so many more people. >> people run away from us, they don't run after them. the next guy they'll just get him. so it's a tough thing for the police. >> they're aware of the problem.
